The general integration course consists of 700 lessons and aims to provide, within 600 lessons, German language skills at the B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), as well as, within 100 lessons, knowledge of the legal system, culture, and history of Germany.
The acquisition of German language skills is based on everyday topics such as work, housing, health, and dealing with authorities.
In the 100-lesson orientation course, topics such as politics and democracy, history and responsibility, as well as people and society, are covered.
The general integration course concludes with two standardized final tests:
“German Test for Immigrants” (DTZ) and “Life in Germany” (LiD).
